How to get fabulous hair
on 30 Sep 08 10:53
First up, I must admit to my massive style crush on Fearne Cotton. So when Jules Holland, Creative Director on Mark Hill's hair team, starts tending to my barnet and tells me he's also worked on Fearne's lovely locks, I sit up and take notice. Which is just as well, because this guy really knows his stuff.
Jules tells me that getting fabulous hair really isn't that difficult - that's just a myth created by hairdressers - but I'm still not convinced that I could get the effect he's delivered at home. It's all about the finish, apparently - and he's right - fabulous hair just won't cut it if it doesn't have that final shine.
It all gets a bit sciency when I learn that because hair is hydroscopic (who knew?!) it needs to be hydrated. So the lovely Jules gives it a quick spray with a bit of heat protection and then gets to work with the straighteners. Which by the way are 50% off at Boots today - what a bargain.
After just a few minutes, my hair is all szhoozhed and I walk out of Boots feeling all swishy and fabulous. What a difference 5 minutes at the hands of an expert makes.
