Make-up Master Class

When it comes to making myself up, I'm a creature of habit. Not that I still wear that blue eye-shadow I loved back in the 90's, but my daily routine evolves slowly as I pick up little tips and tricks along my way.

So, finding myself at a Bobbi Brown make-up master class in Harrods, I was intrigued to hear a top make-up artist, just back from styling Kim Cattrall in New York, giving tips on how to get the fresh-faced "glow" we all aspire to. His canvas was a very pretty girl and his tools were all Bobbi Brown, but being neither a model nor financial abundant, I still felt there was universality to his guidance.

He taught us not to use bronzer as a blusher ("because nobody blushes brown"); to sweep a darker shade between your breasts to make them look bigger; that eyebrows should never stray beyond the line directly up from each nostril or we'd be doomed to a perma-frown... and that if someone comments on "your make-up looking good", you've done it badly.

Magician-like, he created illusions before our eyes with great ease, explaining each step to his awe-struck audience, and at the end of it offering us all an individual '10 Step Make-Over' with one of the Bobbi Brown team... to get one too, go to Bobbi Brown.
