30 DAYS OF FASHION AND BEAUTY LAUNCHES WITH AUCTION OF CELEBRITY PHOTOGRAPHS BY MARY MCCARTNEY
As part of the National Magazine Company’s prestigious 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty Festival, a collection of photographs by Mary McCartney, each exploring what British style means to its famous subjects, will be auctioned for Macmillan Cancer Support at a star-studded gala event during London Fashion Week on September 16
The collection includes photographs of famous people with iconic British style, fashion on London streets, muddy revellers at a festival and the decadence of the English races. Also included are previously unseen images of Kate Moss pictured with cream crackers and Branston pickle, sister Stella McCartney riding one of her beloved horses and pictures of fashion queen Dame Vivienne Westwood, all capturing the laid-back individuality and sometimes pure eccentricity of British style.
During the gala event, to be held at the Natural History Museum, Matthew Girling, CEO of Bonhams will auction six of these images. The money raised will help Macmillan to reach and improve the lives of people living with cancer.
Mary McCartney says: "I enjoy taking informal portraits in new surroundings and as always am so pleased to be able to raise awareness of the fantastic central support of Macmillan Cancer Support."
The exhibition includes celebrities and documentary images of people from diverse backgrounds, allowing the public to observe the many different interpretations of British style. All 30 shots will appear as an online exhibition from September 16 at http://www.30daysoffashionandbeauty.co.uk/.
30 Days of Fashion and Beauty, sponsored by Boots, starts on September 1. It will be the UK's biggest ever fashion and beauty event, a stylish month-long, multi-media spectacular which will reach more than 10 million women across the UK.
